The leadership of Nigeria union of journalist Ondo state council has inaugurated the new executives of the OSRC chapel with Odunayo Sawyer emerging as chairman.
This development is coming five years after the OSRC chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) Ondo State council had existed without clear leadership.
The inauguration of the new leadership was held at the headquarters of OSRC, Orita Obele and was attended by the NUJ state council Chairman, Mr Adetona Aderoboye and Secretary, Mr Leke Adegbite.
Apart from Mrs Sawyer, others inaugurated are Mr Issah Olatunji as Secretary while Omosileola Adesoye-Ajayi takes the position of Treasurer.
The NUJ Chairman, Mr Aderoboye said OSRC chapel remains an integral part to the success of the union in the state.
Mrs Sawyer later took the oath of office and allegiance as the new chairman from the leadership of the NUJ.
Head of Alalaye newsroom Unit, Issah Olatunji and House of Assembly correspondent, Omosileola Adesoye-Ajayi also took their oaths.
The new executives who sought coporation of members pledged their resolve to restore the chapel to its pride of place.
OSRC’s Deputy Director of News and Current Affairs department, Mr Taiwo Ibitoye and one time Chairman OSRC chapel, Mr Kunle Ariyo expressed optimism that the new dawn will foster progress for members
In the next 30 days, It is expected that other members of the executives would have been incorporated.
