UNIMED Teaching Hospital Gets New Medical Equipment

Medical equipment worth of N25 million has been donated to the UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Ondo complex.

Presenting the equipment to the management of the Teaching Hospital, Mr. Akinlolu Ogunwumiju, represented by Chief Henry Olasanoye said it is his love for his root, Ondo town that informed the decision to support the health facility.

Ogunwumiju, said “it is a known fact that the Nigeria present economic realities and healthcare services delivery is nothing to write home about.”

The donor educate the public that state government cannot do it alone but with supports from various individual, NGOs and corporate bodies, Universal Health Coverage could be achieved by the government faster and easily.

The Imperial Majesty and Paramount ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Dr Victor Kiladejo CFR. Jillo III ably represented by High Chief Sasere, Chief Johnson Adeduro.The Osemawe of Ondo kingdom described the Medical equipments donated by Mr. Akinlolu Ogunwumiju as a great and kind gesture. He commended the donor for remembering his root and giving back to his source.

The Osemawe of Ondo kingdom said the donation will gear up others in the diaspora to do more for our people and to the development of the kingdom. He advised the management of the Teaching Hospital to make use of the equipments to the very best of their knowledge and tried to maintain them as well in order to create more value to our people.

The CMD Dr. Oluwole Ige represented by the CMAC, Dr. Michael Gbala thanked the donor of the medical equipment and promised to make use of the equipment to improve medical services to the general public.

He advised other prospective donors that they should relate with the managers of the Teaching Hospital before they donate. He said doing that would create more values to the kind gesture and services of the Teaching Hospital.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Ondo state, Pharmacy Folukemi Aladenola represented by the Director of Hospital services, Dr. Adelusi Ayodeji expressed delight when the donor handed over the medical equipments to the management of UNIMED Teaching Hospital.

He said it is a laudable project and advised the manager of the equipment to make use of it very well for the benefits of all and sundry.

He emphasized on the need to relate with hospital managers whenever a donor wanted to support the hospital, so as to avoid duplication of Medical equipment.
