Barely two week after his assumption of duty in Ondo State, Commissioner of Police, CP Oyeyemi Oyediran says a fake Facebook account has been opened in his name by an unscrupulous person, parading him/herself as the Commissioner of Police with intent to defraud innocent citizens.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Funmilayo Odunlami in a statement on Sunday night, alerted the public against engaging in business with the impostor.
“The scammer has reached out to unsuspecting people via a Facebook account with the name CP OYEDIRAN OYEYEMI ADESOYEFSI, with a display picture of the CP in Police uniform
“CP Oyeyemi is using this medium to inform the general public to disregard any message from this Facebook account soliciting for help or asking anyone to pay for any kind of project as this is the handiwork of a criminal parading him/herself as the CP.
“This is a caveat to ensure people do not fall prey into the hands of this criminal as the CP will not stoop so low to solicit for help on social media.
“As for the impostor, his/ her days are numbered, as the long arm of the law will soon catch up with the person,” the statement added.
