A Truck on Tuesday night loaded with Bags of Rice lost control and rammed into some shops along Iyame-Odo axis of the ancient town of Ikare Akoko.

This is coming despite the ban on long trucks plying Ikare-Akungba road due to incessant accidents leading to loss of lives and properties of which many students and traders have died in the past.

The recent truck accident at Ikare on Tuesday night claimed no casualty according to a resident, Mr Ganiyu Adenola who said the residents were saved by the Grace of God as they have slept.

Adenola condemned the unprofessional and dangerous driving of truck drivers on Akoko roads which has led to untimely deaths of many innocent people.

Reacting to the accident, the Ikare Akoko unit commander of FRSC, Mr Oluropo Alabi said his agency unit had warned seriously against night journeys.

He said the accident might have been as a result of sleeping on the part of the driver.
