Olumbe Akinkugbe, the Chairman Ondo SITA and aspirant Ondo East/West House of Representatives, has donated 200 childbirth kits at the primary healthcare center in Ondo East.
The initiative which was supported by the Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative are items to assist healthcare workers to birth babies in areas with little or no access to healthcare facilities.
The maternal and childbirth health officer, Mrs. Adepeju Oluwajana thanked Mr. Olumbe for his timely intervention noting that it would reduce maternal mortality in remote communities with limited access to healthcare facilities.
Mr. Olumbe further assured the leadership of the primary health center of his continuous support as the well being of people living in the community was a priority for him. Olumbe said “we will continue to support health centers, health workers and health initiatives that will improve the living conditions of our people. We want our women to give birth with zero complications, just as we want our children to be healthy and so I will continue to support this health center to provide care and comfort to our people.”
