Mr Olumbe Akinkugbe has resigned from his position as the Chairman of Ondo SITA effective today 14 April 2022.
Olumbe’s resignation is in compliance with the Electoral Act that requires public officers (including government appointees) to resign from their official position before participating in the electoral process.
In a statement signed by Olumbe, the former aide to the governor of Ondo state noted that “Serving under the leadership of Arakurin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been an opportunity of a lifetime and my gratitude knows no bounds. I learnt from you the attitude of ‘noblesse oblige’ which has influenced my desire to further serve my constituency and this incredible state in another capacity. “
He further stated that “I will forever be proud to have my humble name attached to the stewardship, steadfastness, compassion and unprecedented development of the Arakurin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led administration in Ondo state.”
Olumbe further reiterated his unwavering commitment to the people of Ondo and requested their support and prayers. He said “as we prepare for the primary elections in the coming month, I will be counting on your support, prayers and encouragement to embark on this journey. Elections matter, but those we choose to elect matter more. I’m confident that my party and the people of Ondo East and West will have no problem reposing their confidence it me. My commitment to the people of Ondo is unwavering and I would have no greater honor than to serve and represent them at the National Assembly. “
