Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Tuesday announced the constitution of a new Governing Council for the Four Tertiary Institutions in the State.
Legal icon, Tunji Abayomi and Banji Alabi were reappointed as heads of Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA) Akungba Akoko and Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) respectively.
Mrs Olufunke Agagu, wife of ex Ondo State Governor was also returned as a member of council at RUGIPO.
Prof. Wole Akeredolu, brother to the Governor was appointed a member of AAUA governing council while APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin was appointed a member of RUGIPO governing council. Both appointees are first timers.
Richard Olatunde, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor in a statement said the appointment “is aimed at consolidating the gains of his administration in the education sector and to further strengthen its development.”
