The Governing Council of the University of Lagos has appointed Prof. Folasade Ogunsola as the new Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
The 64-year-old Professor of Microbiology at the University’s College of Medicine, is the first female VC of the 60-year-old institution.
Prof. Ogunsola, a daughter of Prof. Akin Mabogunje, who died recently, becomes the 13th substantive VC of UNILAG.
She succeeded Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, whose five-year tenure will elapse in November.
