The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it will review the Appeal Court’s decision ordering it to cease its strike in order to decide its next course of action.

ASUU President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke stated this in a reaction to the verdict of the Appellate Court, Abuja Division.

Professor  Osodeke pointed out that the union has not yet received certified copy of the Appeal Court’s decision.

He said, “We have not received the ruling, when we get it, we will review it with our lawyer and then we can take the next step”.

It may be recalled that the  Appellate Court has ordered the union to immediately resume work as previously directed by the National Industrial Court.

On September 21, the National Industrial Court  issued an interlocutory order requiring the striking lecturers to resume teaching pending the determination of the substantive suit.

Angered by the decision, the union went to the appellate court to challenge the decision.
