Ondo Okays Return Of AUD Staff, Pupils To Okeagbe Mega School

… Ondo Promises To Construct Over 100 Classrooms Next Year

Ondo State Government has approved the return of Pupils and Staff of Ansar ud -Deen, AUD, Caring Heart Mega Primary School, Oke Agbe in Akoko North West Local Government Area back to their original buildings.

The Executive Chairman of SUBEB Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan who disclosed this during a courtesy visit by the Executive of the Ansar- ud- deen, AUD, Society of Nigeria Ondo State Chapter said the decision was taken in good faith.

“It is instructive to note that the State Government had released the school properties to the foremost citadel of learning in the State, Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko as part of plans to expand its facilities and develop the school.”

Speaking on the development, Olabimtan said before now Government through the Board had concluded plans to return the personnel to the school in the best interest of the pupils and most importantly because the new owner AAUA, has not made use of the facilities and they have started to deteriorate.

He said as part of its 2023 works action plans the board is going to renovate the school along with other.public primary schools already identified and construct not less than 100 classrooms in schools across the State.

This he said is part of the ongoing plans to give all the public schools in the State a facelift to make them more amendable to both teaching and learning.

SUBEB boss added that the State Government will not only renovate the AUD Mega School but will also provide the pupils with new lockers and chairs and staffs with chairs and tables to make their offices more conducive

While commending the cordial relationship between Muslim and Christian Communities in the State the former Speaker Ondo State House Assembly underscored the advantages to teaching western curriculum along with Islamic education in the Muslim schools to make the learning and education of the pupils and students more holistic.

According to him we are in a dynamics world and education is dynamics. The only way we as people can be relevant in today’s fast changing world is to take advantage of developments in both Islamic and western worlds through the knowledge they offer for the benefits of today and future generations

“one thing we must continue to emphasize in our society is to see both Christianity and Islam as one. We are the same people from the same source, same parentage and worshipping the same Almighty God. The only difference is the means. So there is no need for disagreements between the adherents of the two major religions”

To this ensure that Quranic Schools in the State are delivering on their mandate the State Government has commenced their registration with not less that 180 registered so far and giving them a grant every year to upscale their facilities.

Earlier the State Chairman of the Society in the State Alhaji Rabiu Abdul Olasoji who hinged the request for the return the pupils and their teachers to their former school premises to overcome the accommodation problem they are facing commended the State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, for appointing Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan Chairman of SUBEB. He said he is a round peg in a round hole
