The Republicans have won the majority seat in the US House of Representatives.
The party on Tuesday evening reached the 218 majority mark, which makes it the party to produce the speaker in January.
So far, 424 of 435 seats up for grabs have been called. The Republicans have 218 seats already while the Democrats only have 207. More official results underway.
Meanwhile, Kevin McCarthy has been nominated for speaker over a challenger from the right. Senator Rick Scott said he will challenge Senator Mitch McConnell for minority leader.
Similarly, Former President Donald J. Trump is expected to announce his bid to contest the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday evening at his Florida base.
