Let Love Lead – Mimiko at Christmas

As Christians around the world celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ, immediate past Governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has called on Nigerian Christians to live a life marked by love.

Mimiko, in a statement by John Paul Akinduro, his Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications, said the scriptures command that christians do everything in love as they relate with others.

According to him, “As we merry this season, we must remember that a lot of families and individuals are spending this holiday without food, clothing and shelter – our duty as Christians is to show them love and kindness.

“We must also remember that some are in captive while others are sick. So, as we come together with our loved ones, in safety and security, let’s think of those who cannot do the same at the moment”

Mimiko and his wife, Olukemi, wished all a very merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous new year.

Adetimehin counsels APC members on Christmas

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, has appealed to party members and Christians to pray ardently as they celebrate Christmas.

Adetimehin’s admonition is contained in a statement by Alex Kalejaye, State Publicity
Ondo of the APC.

The APC chieftain identified Prayer as an essential tool needed to excel in every endeavor, even at critical times.

“We all need to pay special attention to prayers. It is very necessary, to guide and sustain us in all that we do, even in politics,” he advised.

Adetimehin also emphasized the need to appreciate God for life and endless mercies over individuals and families, “for keeping us alive through out the year”.

He urged members to rejoice in the Lord, even  “as they celebrate with caution”, believing that God would perfect their plans in 2023.

While wishing APC members Merry Christmas, the party stalwart reminded them of the need to reflect on the efforts of the State Government, to make life more meaningful, and preach same as they celebrate.

Similarly, the Ondo State Muslim Community has congratulated her Christian counterpart on the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Chairman, League of Imams & Alfas in the state, Alhaji Ahmad Aladesawe in a statement urged Nigerians to use the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ to remain committed to the unity of the country and the success of the 2023 general election.

Alhaji Aladesawe who is also the chief Imam of Owo congratulated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and all political leaders in the state for the Christmas celebration.

The Chief Imam also congratulated the Olowo of Owo , Oba Ajibade Ogunoye and the entire Christian leaders in the state.

He assured that the Muslim leaders would continue to work their Christian counterparts to sustain the peaceful and harmonious relationship in the state.
