The former speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Yakubu Dogara on Saturday, December 10, commissioned a 960 bed space named after former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, at Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State.
Rt Hon. Dogara is also the Chancellor of the University.
The commissioning is part of the activities marking the University’s 12th convocation and 15th anniversary.
Rt Hon. Dogara was accompanied to the event by some members of the House of Representatives, Abuja.
In his remark, the Pro-Chancellor of the University, Dr Bode Ayorinde, congratulated the Chancellor, Rt Hon. Dogara on witnessing another landmark event in the University.
Similarly, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Aje, disclosed that the foundation for the new hall or residence was laid by the former VP, at last year’s convocation ceremonies.
While unveiling the building, Rt Hon. Dogara was amazed at the pace of the construction of the edifice, adding that such intervention will assist the students a lot.
