It is 30 years to a century that the Alumni of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure (OGSA) celebrate their anniversary from January 23 to January 29 2023. The school is known as the only school because of its achievements.
On the first day of the anniversary was the arrival of old students, the second day that is Monday was a great day which the students of the great citadel of learning took a walk with the old students to Deji palace at Akure.
The third day was a press briefing with the old students and also a novelty match was played between Oyemekun Grammar School Old Boys and Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School. The match ended one all.
The fourth day was the commission of legacy projects in the school including the building built by the present national president of old students alumni association of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure named Dr. Niyi Ijogun.
The fifth day was the inter house sport day. The sixth day that is Friday, was the science and art exhibition taken in the morning and volleyball and football friendly matches were against Aquinas College later on that day . The volleyball team defeated Aquinas with 3:0 and the football team defeated Aquinas with 3:2.
The seventh day was the dinner and presentation of awards which some teachers were awarded and two student from academic, two from sport were awarded. The last day that is Sunday was the Thanksgiving day day which was taken in the church in the school.
The anniversary was a very exciting event for the students, teachers, old boys, parents and the community.
