The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, has appealed to Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming Presidential Election on February 25.

Jegede, Adams and Kunlere at the interactive session.

The PDP leadership led by its State Chairman, Hon. Fatai Adams, made the appeal in Akure at an interactive session with media practitioners in the State on Thursday.

Mr Adams called the attention of Nigerians to the present hardship they are going through, adding that such was not the case when the PDP was in power.

“You can see what Nigerians are witnessing now. There’s scarcity of fuel and money. This is unacceptable and we urge Nigerians to reject the APC at the polls,” he said.

Also speaking, the Director General of the Atiku-Okowa Campaign Council in the State, Senator Boluwaji Kunlere enumerated the values the PDP added to the Nigerian economy when it was in power.

According to Kunlere, PDP was responsible for the present technological driven economy that has benefitted the common man today.

“When we were in power, we upscaled the telecommunications sector and it provided jobs for millions of Nigerians. Today, that sector has open the country to the world through its Internet service and other benefits,” Kunlere said.

The candidate of the party in the 2020 governorship election in the State, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, also emphasized the need for Nigerians to vote for the PDP in the coming elections.

“Our people are going through a lot of suffering and difficulties. Our children who are used to riding the school shuttle buses in the State at a time now know the difference between the PDP government and the present one. Same for the pregnant women who benefitted from healthcare services in the State during the PDP days.

“We can all see what the APC government has done, but it is not enough. Their best is not good at all. We are all aware of the challenges we’re facing now and it is my belief that Nigerians will reject the APC at the general elections.

Earlier, former PDP Director of Publicity in the State, Ayo Fadaka, tasked the media practitioners on objective reportage of the Nigerian situation. He appealed to them to set agenda for the coming elections by encouraging Nigerians to come out and vote and not be intimidated.

Other PDP stalwarts at the session include; former Speaker, Dr Bakkita Bello; PDP Secretary, Seye Olujimi; Bode Obanla; Mrs Fadoju among others.
