The federal lawmaker representing Akoko North/ East North West Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Thursday explained how he has been able to facilitate majority of his projects in his Federal Constituency.

While addressing newsmen in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, the lawmaker revealed that there is no ward or community in his constituency that does not have a project facilitated by him.

“There’s no ward or community in my federal constituency that does not have a project facilitated by my administration and this is a product of my commitment made possible by the people to ensure that no area is marginalized.

” Also before I became a lawmaker, I brought in consultant who toured the entire federal constituency and we were able to have a comprehensive list of what each areas need.

“This has guided us in the execution of our projects as they are strategic and intentional, they are projects and initiatives which have direct Impact on the beneficiary communities,” he added.

Also BTO as fondly called stated that he has been able to achieve majority of this project through lobbying which he described as the primary duty of a legislator.

“Against the notion that we got our projects in my federal constituency through the NDDC, I have been able to facilitate them through lobbying.

“During my first term campaign, I only made one promise and that is effective representation, and in doing this, I had been able to effectively lobby for projects from independent bodies among others to the various communities in my federal constituency.”

Also while addressing the challenge of abandoned projects in the NDDC, BTO, who is the House Committee Chairman on NDDC affairs at the green chamber stated that he has prioritized on-going projects over new projects.

“Today we have a completed multi-billion naira edifice for the NDDC in Port Harcourt, this was a project started in the year 1993; also we have completed the police housing project in Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government which was long abandoned for 10 years.

“Also in addressing the issue of electricity in Ondo South, we have successfully made two payments and we will do everything possible to address this situation”, he added.

While addressing questions regarding his second term ambition, he stated that, “my second term election is a referendum which would be determined by the people. I have done well by giving them effective representation and I am optimistic that the people would sustain my administration.”
