CAPACITY BUILDING
At a special retreat held at Smoking Hills Golf Course, Members got refreshed on the rudiments of the game of golf and reportage.
Also, during his life time, Late Ayo Ogedengbe delivered several papers on issues of national development and roles of the sporting profession in societal development commemorating sports journalists day in Nigeria.
RAISING THE BAR
In a strong bid to raise the bar and make meaningful contributions to sports development in the sunshine state, the association hosted a debate for Candidates seeking to lead the Ondo State Football Association.
The candidates for the chairmanship position told the world their blue prints and ambition.
The event held at the NUJ Press Center, Alagbaka, Akure was 1st of it’s kind by the association in Nigeria.
IMPROVED DOCUMENTATION
A special compendium consisting the achievements of Ondo State sports men and women in various national and international competitions was made by association, presented to governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and other sports establishments.
This provided the platform for all stakeholders to have adequate information about the state and the performance of the athletes towards improved well being.
DEVELOPMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE
The association can now boast of a Secretariat located inside the state sports complex in Akure.
A comfortable office complex to do the job and relax the brain.
The association also secured an 18 seater Hummer bus from the state government.
AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
Notable sports men and women including Caoch Purity Akuh, Odunayo Adekuoroye, Ojo Onalapo, Abe Sunday among others, royal fathers, lawmakers, sports administrators and media professionals were honoured and appreciated for their roles in sports development in the sunshine state at a special gala held at the Dome.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is the Grand Patron of the Association while his Wife, Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu is the Grand Matron, in recognition of efforts to promote sports development at all levels.
BRANDING
The association secured a partner, XNode Consult who facilitated the retreat held at Smoking Hills Golf Course in Ilara Mokin.
The association no doubt enjoyed good working relationship with all sports establishments in the state including the sports ministry, ODSFA, OSSC, and Sunshine Stars.
The association is accepted by all stakeholders and members well treated with respected in all gatherings and functions.
Barrister Tolu Oyebode is the Legal Adviser of the association.
WELFARE
The welfare of members of the association is always paramount and with the little resources “always sourced for’, we did our best to promote welfare of members.
The association also secured more slots for our members who covered the national sports festival in Asaba, Delta State on the bill of the Ondo State government.
