TVC Ondo Correspondent, Ayodeji Moradeyo Gets Media Personality Award

The Ondo State Correspondent of TVC News, Mr Ayodeji Moradeyo, has bagged the Media Personality of the year Award.

Ayodeji, popularly known as Ayolomo and recently as “Incoming” received the award on Saturday at a legislative summit titled: “The Role of Legislature in Strengthening Nigeria’s Democracy”, organised by the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), held in Akure the state capital.

NAOSS is the highest student body in the Sunshine State.

Speaking, the National President of National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), National Body, Mary Ogunga said Ayodeji was awarded in recognition of his impactful and innovative contributions to the world of Journalism.

Ogunga who is the first female elected President of the association explained that the awardee has been championing truthful reportage that promote society, love, tolerance that brings about development.

She said: “It is a deserving Merit Award for recognition of the Sterling achievements and outstanding concern of Mr Ayodeji to NAOSS and Journalism”

Also speaking, the senate president of the legislative arm, Ahmed Oyelade said the arm, said the award was given to Moradeyo because of his outstanding contributing to journalism

He said, “The role of the media can’t be over-emphasised in our society. The awardee has imbed the ethics of his profession that include fairness, impartiality, objectivity, among others and he has actually been a wonderful person to the association to cover us whenever there is an event about the association”.

“We’ve learnt through the summit through the guest speaker and Former Member of House of Representatives, Hon Kolawole Babatunde”, she said.

Recall that in 2019, Ayodeji won the Ondo NUJ Best Investigative Reporter Award as well as the Media Merit Award organised by the Impact Media group and in 2022, Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu presented the Most Supportive Media Reporter of the year, to Ayodeji, amongst other meritorious awards he has received.

Reacting, Ayodeji, the Senior News Reporter with TVC News with decades of experience in both print and broadcast media expressed his appreciation to NAOSS for the honour and equally assured them that because of the great value he attached to the recognition, the award will spur him to do more.

The awardee also thanked Journalists, friends and well wishers who were present to cheer him at the event.

A former member of the house of representatives, Babatunde Kolawole delivered a lecture at the event.

He urged youth to show more interest in politics, stressing the legislative arm must be vibrant at the state and national level.
