It is gradually becoming a global occurrence that elected public office holders give account of their activities within the first 100 days in office. The reason for this is not far-fetched as it is to ensure that they are on track with their campaign manifestoes and policy document.

For the lawmaker representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo federal constituency,
Honourable Ayodele Festus Adefiranye, the last one hundred days has been eventful; his landslide victory has not only be justified, it has proved that the unassailable decision by the constituents to vote him has been justified with the lawmaker’s several decisive steps and commendable initiatives.

Having birthed his journey as a parliamentarian from the Ondo state House of Assembly, the procedure and practices of lawmaking are not entirely alien to the lawmaker, coupled with the fact that he served as the Deputy Chief Whip of the 9th Ondo state House of Assembly, the vast and wealth of experience acquired would bring a whole lot of good to the agrarian and industrious people of Ileoluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo federal constituency.

In the aftermath of the Inaguration of the 10th Assembly on June 13th, Hon Adefiranye brought his wealth of experience to bear by presenting a motion on the reconstruction and dualisation of Ore, Ondo and Akure federal road in the 2024 budget estimate and urged for the prioritisation and funding of the budget.

In the motion, the House instructed the Ministry of Works to award the project to a reliable and competent company and ensure its timely completion to ease the suffering of Nigerians and promote economic growth.

During the electioneering, the lawmaker reiterated his commitment to the welfare of his people and promised to serve them.
Undoubtedly, affirming to this, Adefiranye has been committed to using his position in the House of Representatives to fight for his people and make the constituency great. It is, therefore, not a surprise that one of Adefiranye’s first act within 100 days was to facilitate at least nine federal employments to his constituents, a feat the people have described as unprecedented.

His efforts have already had a positive impact on his people within the 100 days; as a shrewd negotiator, he has paid working visits to various stakeholders, Ministries, Departments and Agencies. As they say the hallmark of great parliamentarians is thier ability to work across party lines and build consensus.

In showing his commitment to education advancement and academic well-being of the students, he organised a summer coaching session for senior secondary school students within the constituency. At the end of the four week session, the students smilled home with back-to-school packs, which included notebooks and stationeries that would encourage the students.

At the end of the coaching session, which were organised across seven centres of the Ileoluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo federal constituency, three outstanding students in each of the centres, who came out tops in the centres would also be rewarded.

While speaking, the unassuming lawmaker said the coaching classes, handled by competent teachers, have equipped the students with the knowledge and confidence needed to improve in the new academic year. He urged the students to be thoroughly focused on their studies, which essentially constitutes the foundation for the fulfilment of their destinies.

In the area of interventions, Hon Adefiranye started on a sound note, and has displayed a rare disposition of patriotism quite early by moving a motion on the ugly fuel tanker explosion that occurrd at Ore in Odigbo local government in July which claimed over 30 lives. Hence, the House of Representatives set up an ad hoc committee to probe the incident and giude the house on porferring a solution to guard against similar incidents in other parts of the country. The house further directed the National Emergency Management Agency to provide relief materials to the affected victims.

In view of the euphoria of the successes recorded in his first hundred days, they are early signs that the lawamker is committed to impactful strides and landmark representation in the National Assembly.
