A frontline aspirant in the upcoming 2024 Governorship election in Ondo State, Prof. Ibrahim Ajagunna, has commended Nigerians for their resilience and enduring spirit.
In a felicitation message personally signed by him, Ajagunna said, “I seize this moment to commend the resilience and enduring spirit mustered by the Nigerian people throughout our Nation’s eventful journey thus far. Our unity remains our greatest strength. Amid diversity, we have demonstrated patriotism and exhibited unity; knowing fully well that only through our undivided strength we can overcome the numerous challenges confronting us.”.
The Akoko born Professor who is the Deputy President of Caribbean Maritime University, Jamaica in his statement noted that “Independence day gives us a sense of reflection, celebration, and anticipation. It is a time for us to reflect on the sacrifices made by our heroes past, who fought tirelessly for the freedom and sovereignty we enjoy today”.
Ajagunna further urged Nigerians to be resolute and optimistic in spite of the challenges affecting the country.
“Our journey over the past six decades as a sovereign nation has been characterized by remarkable successes, and yet inevitable challenges. As we reflect on our achievements on this day, we must also allow them to inspire us to focus more on the promising future that lies ahead, amid the surmountable challenges.
“As we come together to celebrate this historic day, let us also rededicate ourselves to building a brighter future for our country. Let us continue to work towards a society that is inclusive, just, and thriving for all its citizens.
We must continue to embrace our diversity and forge ahead in unquenchable patriotism for our country and unbreakable unity to give life to the dreams and visions of our founding heroes”.
Ajagunna who had earlier declared his interest for election into the Governor’s seat of Ondo state in the forthcoming election added that his programs are such that commits to sustaining Nigeria’s independence which will afford citizens’ rights and protection, good governance, and rule of law as enshrined in the Nation’s constitution.
Ibrahim Ajagunna also congratulated Nigerians and prayed for the betterment of the country.
