by Professor Anthony Adegbulugbe.

Every human being must taste death because it is divine, and anyone who believes in God knows that it will come when it will come.

Little wonder the yorubas say “orun ma kanju, gbogbo wa la n bo”.

Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu was a firm believer in God, so he knew death will come someday.

Little wonder he lived crusading for a good earthlife for everyone, a society where everyone would be happy and safe.

Aketi was a patriot who always fought for a Nigeria where equity will be the defining word of our national existence.

Aketi was a great leader who always worked to leave a legacy wherever he was privileged to serve.

At Loyola College, Ibadan where we were schoolmates he was compassionate and fun to be with.

At Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro he was respected for so many sterling qualities.

At the University of Ife his leadership traits began to emerge so strongly.

As a lawyer he was distinguished

As a Governor he gave a good account of himself.

Aketi was forthright, he was a good man.

Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was a friend in whom I was well pleased but now he belongs to the saints triumphant.

I LOST A GREAT FRIEND.

Adieu Aketi
