The Vice-Chancellor, University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, Ondo State, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, FAS on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 commiserated with the family and the entire people of Ondo State on the demise of the Visitor to the University and Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
He said Akeredolu will be dearly missed by the University community, as UNIMED has received tremendous support of the state government under the Governor’s leadership.
The VC said: ‘UNIMED got full accreditation of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) for Medicine and Dentistry programmes of the University because of the support of the Governor and his resilience.’
Fatusi, who spoke through Temitope Oluwatayo noted that Akeredolu’s contributions to education and health sector will never be forgotten.
The VC said ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with Governor Akeredolu’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. His passion for public service and the well-being of our state will not be forgotten, and he will be remembered for his dedication, compassion, and integrity.
‘Ondo State has lost a devoted public servant, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all,’ the VC added.

Dear People of Ondo State and the Bereaved Family of our Beloved Governor,
