The former OSOPADEC Chairman emphasised the remarkable achievements of the late Akeredolu in various sectors, including infrastructure, education, security, healthcare, and agriculture.

“Akeredolu’s dedication to the progress of Ondo State was truly remarkable. His transformative initiatives, such as the expansion of infrastructure, the creation of Amotekun Corps for the entire Southwest region, the enhancement of educational facilities, and the promotion of agriculture, have had a lasting impact on the state and its people. We have lost a visionary leader whose legacy will continue to inspire us.”

Edema praised the late governor for his efforts in attracting investments to the state, which had significantly contributed to the economic growth of the state.

He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the people of Ondo State during this period of mourning.

Edema recalled that the late governor had provided him with invaluable opportunities to serve in key positions. Akeredolu had initially appointed Edema as the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) and subsequently recommended him to serve on the board of the NDDC.

Edema acknowledged that his tenure as Chairman of OSOPADEC and his subsequent appointment to the NDDC board were pivotal moments in his political career, and he expressed gratitude for the trust and confidence placed in him by late Akeredolu.
