The 1978/1983 set, United States of America chapter of Anglican Grammar School, Ijare (AGSI) on Friday handed over a block of four classrooms that was renovated by the old students.
The 83 set USA chapter was represented by Dr Gbenga Falana at the colorful event, which was well attended by students of the school, even though they are on annual break.
Dr Falana who spoke on behalf of the group of seven based in the USA, said unity has been their watchword.
According to him, the seven of them are united on common purpose, which is the development of AGSI.
He said the President of the set, Mr. Olukayode Adewumi, though not from Ijare but Ilara Mokin, has the interest of AGSI at heart.
Other members of the group are; Mrs. Sola Ogunro who is the Secretary; Pastor Dapo Oyewole; Mrs. Adekunle Akorede; Mrs. Folashade Ayodele & Mr. Kunle Alade.
Dr Falana during the address also promised that the 83 set will continue to turn around the fortunes of the school.

Earlier, the Principal of AGSI, Mrs Olubajo appreciated the 83 set USA chapter for spending heavily on the building.
Mrs Olubajo, who prayed for the members of the 83 set, requested other old students of AGSI to give back to the school.

Some elders in the community who were around to witness the commissioning of the classrooms prayed for the wellness of the donors.
The renovated building with four classrooms was then commissioned by Dr Falana on behalf of 83 set. He also unveiled the plaque which names of the 83 set USA chapter inscribed on it.

In a similar development, parents of students that benefitted from the N50,000 maiden scholarship by Dr Falana Gbenga John foundation, were on hand to appreciate him.
He shared with them some of the experiences he had while growing up at AGSI, adding that they should take care off their children.
