Ife Ehindero, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 3rd bye-election scheduled to hold in Akoko north federal constituency says he is still in the race.

He therefore called on the party members and constituents to disregard the unfounded rumours of his disqualification.

Mr. Ehindero, in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday evening described the rumour as ‘the last kicks of a dying horse’;

Below is the full text of the statement Unedited:

Kindly disregard the fake news that a court has restrained me from parading myself as the flag bearer of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in our forthcoming bye election.

This is the last kicks of a dying horse from our brothers in the other side of the political divide. We can understand the trauma of their imminent defeat at the poll.

We have confirmed from the court In akure that no such Order was issued.

I remains the flag bearer of APC for Akoko NW/NE Federal Constituency for the 3rd February 2024 election.

My name was published on both the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Portal and the Notice Board of INEC on the 17th of January,2024. My name is still on the portal.

It is also instructive to note that under the Electoral Act, 2022 as amended, an Order of Injunction cannot be granted to restrain a duly sponsored candidate from parading himself or campaigning.

Yours Truly,

Ifeoluwa Ehindero
