Akogun Adetunji Adeleye,Commander, Ondo state security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun corps, has debunked news that bandits have returned to the state forests.

Akogun Adeleye clarified this in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Akure, the state capital.

“The attention of the Ondo State Security Network Agency is drawn to a fake News as quoted above trending on social media credited to a standard National media, The PUNCH Newspaper who surprisingly published such unfounded report.

“The fake News has no basis as there is no kidnap or robbery case in recent times. We are currently on 24-hrs, 7 days ember month patrol with huge success stories.”

The Amotekun boss observed that the story by one Ajisafe Olayiwola of the PUNCH newspaper, that Bandits invaded Ondo community was a ruse, false , unbalanced and as well, unfounded targeted at causing chaos in the state.

“It is so obvious that the said writer of the story did so, for selfish gain from a quarter which the main intention was to douse the morale of the corps in the state over such mischievous write up.

“We advise the general public to ignore such fake News and go about their legitimate businesses as the Akoko area of the state is safe for movement as the joint security agencies are fully on ground to ensure safety of lives and properties,” he said.
