Nigeria’s minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has described the victory of Ife Ehindero, winner of Saturday’s bye-election in Ondo State, as a continuity of effective and efficient representation the APC has offered the constituents since 2019.
The minister in a statement he personally signed on Sunday evening, noted that the beauty of Nigeria’s democratic system unfolds when citizens, through the democratic process, choose representatives they deem most deserving of the position.
He said;
“This discerning choice made by the esteemed residents of Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency in electing Hon. Ife Ehindero as their federal representative on February 3, 2024, not only mirrors our democratic values but also cements our collective identity as a progressive force.”
He applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for fostering a conducive atmosphere where democratic values can thrive.
“I appreciate the unparalleled stewardship provided by the APC National Leadership under His Excellency, Abdullahi Ganduje.
“I wish to appreciate the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering support.
“I equally use this medium to recognize the dedication and zest of the Ondo State APC Executive Committee under Engr Ade Adetimehin for leading the party to yet another victory.
“As a member of the APC family, the development of the Federal Constituency through quality representation remains the goal, and I hold no doubt that the people who trusted him with this important mandate will not be disappointed.
“I appreciate the Independent National Electoral Commission for upholding the tenets of democracy by remaining unbiased umpire throughout the process, as well as security agencies for ensuring voters carry out their franchise in a conducive environment.
