The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar III has announced the commencement of the month of fasting – Ramadan in Nigeria.
The Sultan made the announcement few minutes ago in his palace in Sokoto after the national moon sighting committee confirmed a single claim of the crescent was sighted in the country.
The Sultan in the announcement wished Nigerian Muslims the very best of the holy month.
Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar and it is observed as fasting.
