Sunday Kolawole’s New Book Harps On Why Young Journalists, Mass Comm. Students Must Uphold Ethics, Standard

A book, Emerging Journalists’ Companion, by Sunday Kolawole, a Broadcast Journalist with the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation, OSRC has harped on why young Journalists and students of Mass Communication must uphold the ethics of Journalism towards safeguarding Nigeria’s democracy and enhancing societal development.

At the public presentation and launching of the book held at the NUJ Press Centre, Akure, Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu commended the Author for contributing to knowledge of Journalism.

He recommended the book to newsrooms of media organisations in Nigeria and students of Mass Communication, describing the book as a sure foundation for success in journalism.

Akinlosotu, represented by the Director, Public and Media Relations of his Ministry, Mr. Adedayo Akindele, urged the Author not to relent efforts in mentoring young Journalists in his spheres of influence.

Chairman on the Occasion, Mr. Kola Ajumobi, a retired Permanent Secretary, Ekiti State Ministry of Information and Orientation, appealed to young Journalists to be patient and be committed to reading towards enhancing their growth on the job.

While commending the Author for finding time to write the book, Ajumobi emphasised the place of patience and sound education in the attainment of life’s goals and aspirations.

The Book Reviewer, Dr. Tunde Fajimbola from Elizade University, Ilaramokin, commended the structure, content and language of the book saying “this book will go a long way in bridging the gap between theory and practice of Journalism.

The Author, Mr Sunday Kolawole, hinted that his passion for adherence to standard and ethics of Journalism informed the decision to write the book, Emerging Journalists’ Companion.

He noted that he remains committed to aiding the teaching of Journalism at all fronts.

The Chairman, Ondo State Radiovision Corporation, OSRC, Mr Kunle Adebayo, represented by the Director News and Current Affairs, Nike Busari, applauded Sunday Kolawole for putting out the book to further cement the foundation of Journalism for young Journalists.
