The Capital City University Kano has been granted full licence to operate as a private university in Nigeria.

A statement by Hajiya Rakiya Bello Dangado, Registrar of the institution said the development was the outcome of the National Universities Commission (NUC) visitation panel which was hosted in the university in October 2024.

The panel was impressed with the standard of the facilities and operational procedures of the new university which started operation in 2021.

The management of NUC therefore granted a full license to the university in place of the provisional certificate initially issued at commencement.

According to the Registrar of the institution, Hajiya Rakiya Bello Dandago, “this outcome is a product of commitment to excellence by the governing council, management and staff of the institution who have been working collectively to create a niche for the university”.

The university, located in the heart of Kano City is committed to changing the face of education in Kano, Nigeria and the entire world by continuously improving its infrastructure to meet the ever changing tertiary educational needs of the society.

A statement from the office of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Yusuf Daraja congratulates all the stakeholders particularly the students of the university for this promising achievement coming within the few years of operation.
