My Journey in Theatre spans over three decades. I was barely a Teenager when I had it fuel in my primary school and fuel at the Scripture Union Drama unit back in the late 80s.
All through my adult life everyone in my life knew theatre is my life. I remember leaving my mum on a hospital bed to go coordinate an all night rehearsal (where I wasn’t going to be paid or recognized). For me, it was a medium to express my pain, my joy, my vulnerability. After losing my mum in 2007 and my only sister in 2013, I decided to remember them with a musical performance in 2014 and that started my journey as a Theatre Producer.
It’s been 10 years of being to Akure, what the likes of Bolanle Austin Peters, Adeniran Makinde FTA, Wole Oguntokun, my friend and brother, Lanre Adediwura is to Lagos even without substantial financial support.
My love for theatre has been my driving force but it will be unfair to deny the support of my immediate family especially my wife (who is constantly denied the luxury and vanity of this world so you can follow my passion), my team (whom have given up on me yet refuse to let go of me) my friends and associates and a lot of well meaning Ondo state people like Pastor Tuoyo Ojuyah, Bobase’lu Akindele Omole, Hon Abiola Makinde, Engr & Barr Femi and Bolanle Olafunmiloye, Prin Akin Falodun, Mr Gbenga Olajide, Mr Niyi Falade, Ayodele Ojo of OSMA, Abosede Ige Akintade, Pastor Dare Daniels, Adit Communications, G Sound Multimedia and many others that space won’t allow me mention here.
For me, after 10 years, I feel like doing more. I posted some pictures from our 2022 projects and am thrilled that we are doing well with what we have and we can definitely make it better.
As we celebrate the World Theatre day, I am reminded of a song we sang while I was young “We are able to go up and take that mountain… To possess it from the Jordan to the sea… Tho the giant may be on our way to hinder… God will surely give us victory”
It is a promise. We will do more. Thank you all for your support this far.
