Nine surveyors kidnapped at Ilu Abo last week Tuesday in Akure North Local government area of Ondo state have regained freedom.
It was gathered that 20 million naira was paid before their release.
Scores of residents in the state had picketed the office of the Governor of the state on Tuesday calling for his intervention.
Pastor Ajibade Owolanke, a brother to their boss and Ejemikin of Akure, High Chief Oluwole Omotayo confirmed their release to newsmen on Wednesday.
He said the abducted surveyors were released last night after the payment of twenty million naira ransom.
Pastor Owolanke also confirmed that the surveyors are already in Akure metropolis but declined to disclose their location.
