The Ondo State House of Assembly has ratified the appointment of Caretaker Committee Chairmen earlier appointed by the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Governor Akeredolu had sent a list of 18 Caretaker Chairmen for the 18 Local Governments to the House of Assembly for confirmation.

The Director Information Services, Ondo Assembly, Seinde Fanokun in a press statement said the nominees appeared before the Selection Committee of the House Chaired by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun.
After a thorough screening of the nominees the committee submitted it’s report at the plenary which came up at the hallowed Chamber.
Presenting the Committee report the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Jamiu Suleimon Maito noted that all the nominees except one met the requirements for the appointment as chairmen of the caretaker Committees in the Eighteen local Governments of Ondo State.
The screening of Mrs Margaret Akinsuroju from Odigbo Local Government was deferred till a later date.
After a motion moved Hon. Maito and seconded by Hon. Adewale Williams, the House unanimously resolved to confirm the appointments of the caretaker committee chairmen.
The dissolution of the caretaker Committees in the Eighteen Local Governments was effected On Thursday 13th June 2019 following the expiration of six-month tenure of the past caretaker Committees.
