Following the federal government intervention, motorists plying Enugu-Onitsha Expressway are now jubilating with the on-going construction work on the highway which had been in a state of disrepair for years.
Reports say that one lane is now fully functional while work has seriously progressed on the other lane.
In his reaction to the development, the Buhari Support Organisation (BSO), Enugu State, through its spokesman, Eze Chibueze, described the progress made on the road so far as a fulfillment of electoral promises made to the South-East by President Muhammadu Buhari during his campaigns.
When the other lane is completed, motorists will only need one hour to reach Onitsha which used to take 2 to 3 hours due to the previous condition of the road.
