The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Ondo State Chapter has advocated compulsory membership of information officers at the state and local government levels in the institute for optimal professional performance.

This was the submission of the State Chairman of the institute, Mr Lamidi Ishola when he led members on a courtesy visit to the Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Mr Yemi Olowolabi in Akure.
Mr Ishola who bemoaned the influx of quacks in PR practise commended the Akeredolu led government in repositioning the state owned media and information management machinery in the state.
In his response, the Information Commissioner, Yemi Olowolabi promised the support of the ministry in upholding the tenets of professional PR practise in Ondo State.
He however called for the training of Information managers to qualify them as professional members of the institute.
