The personnel, a woman, attached to Ijapo Police station was on her way to work when she boarded the taxi which unknowingly to her was actually being used to kidnap innocent commuters.
The policewoman who was dressed in mufti boarded the cab at the Agbobo axis of Oke Ijebu, close to the Owo Expressway, where she met two men and a woman already in the vehicle talking about money rituals which made her uncomfortable.
While she was still thinking on what to do, the driver of the taxi instead of driving through the route leading to Alagbaka so that she could drop at the Ijapo Police station just on the way, drove the other route known as Oke Ijebu.
The Policewoman (Names withheld) being familiar with the Oke Ijebu route, raised an alarm, opened the door by her side and started screaming which prompted some good Samaritans to chase the car with the help of an Okada man.
The abductors while trying to run away from those chasing them ran the taxi into a ditch where the good Samaritans and many other Okada riders who had joined the hot pursuit gave them the beating of their lives.
It also took the intervention of some policemen from Ijapo Police Station who prevented an angry mob from metting out jungle justice on them.
The Ondo state police image maker, Femi Joseph who confirmed the incident said the kidnappers confessed to be ritualists saying they abduct for ransom and money ritual purposes.
“They confessed to be kidnappers and ritualists. What they do is to lure their victims into the car, hypnotize and them to unknown destination for rituals or Kidnap”. Joseph said
He said the three suspects who are already in police custody will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
