An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain aspiring for the House of Representatives position in Akoko South West and South East federal constituency, Mr Ade Adeogun has appreciated the people of Oba Akoko for the honour bestowed on him as part of the event marking this year’s Oba day celebration.
Mr Adeogun who was elated about the gesture noted that the development of the community need the concerted effort of stakeholders to salvage the challenges facing Oba and its environs.
“I am happy that my community have come out openly to say thank you for the good things you have done. It is an encouragement for us to do more.
“We are a community in need of help. You have seen the internal roads of the community. It is as if we have been neglected for a long time. It is now time for us all to stand up to develop the community.
“The community cannot do it alone and that is why we need government intervention to turn around things in the community, Adeogun said.
He said he is contesting in next year’s election in order to give the community a loud voice at the federal level which is presently lacking.
On the collapsed bridge in Ikun Akoko, the APC chieftain noted that the state government have mobilised to the site in order to reconnect the bridge.
The Oloba of Oba, HRM Nurudeen Adegoroye while conferring the award of honour on Mr Adeogun described him as a child which everyone will desire to have.
“You won’t die in your prime age. If anyone born of man looks you with an evil eyes, the eyes will turn blind… We appreciate you for your contributions to the development of Oba Akoko… It is my desire that whatever you are aspiring for, the good Lord will grant your desire,” Oloba prayed.
The King of Supare Akoko presented the award to Adeogun on behalf of the Oloba.
