As Minaret Group Of Schools Celebrate First Inter-House Sports
Minaret Group of Schools, Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government area of Ondo state has celebrated her first Inter-House Sports Competition in a Grand style with a call on parents to encourage their children to take up career in sports.
The sporting event which took place at Akure sports Complex was witnessed by mammoth crowd where the Schools’ Proprietor, Alhaji Junaid Olalekan-Yunus emphasized the importance of sports in the lives of youths.
Alhaji Olalekan Yunus said the first Inter-House sports of Minaret Group of Schools was organised to identify talented students and give them opportunity to showcase their sporting abilities as exemplified by Holy Prophet Muhammed.
The Proprietor urged Muslims to engage in sporting activities that do not conflict with the Islamic principles.
In a remark, the chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Lukman Adeleke Luckystar, urged government and parents to encourage sporting activities at the grassroots level especially school sports as recommended under the physical and health education subjects.
The Minaret Group of School maiden inter-house sports was witnessed by parents, religious and community leaders including the Chief Imam of Oba-ile Akure, Alhaji Alimi Daud Ajigbotoluwa, Muslim women’s leader, Hajia Rahmat Afunso, Alhaji Adegbegha Mudado among others
In their submissions, the guests encouraged Muslims to give sports priority it deserves as a child can make a career our of sports.
Alhaja Afunso specifically eulogized the Proprietor and the planners of such a colorful event and prayed for the uplifting of the school.
