Oh you who believe! Observing As-Saum (fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious) Holy Quran – Surah Albaqarah (2:183)

We thank Almighty Allah for the success of this year’s Ramadan. We thank Him for strength, peace and provisions. In all honesty, our strength wouldn’t have taken us this far but Allah has supported us on all sides to complete this mandatory fasting in line with the dictate of Allah.

More than our desire to be pious, Ramadan teaches rich lessons of humility, self examination, kindness and obedience. It’s a month that compels us to some spiritual rebirth of a sort. It’s a month of absolute abstinence from those things that could destroy our faith and fate.

Allah’s grace was upon us all to partake from this spiritual rebirth that would leave a fine impression of spiritual growth and renaissance in us all as we strongly believe that we will not go back to those things Allah commanded us to forgo. We thank Allah for redirecting our paths. We thank Him for changing our lives.

As we celebrate the grace Allah has bequeathed us as we mark the end of Ramadan today, we implore us all never to forget the rich lessons of Ramadan. Patience is a great virtue taught us in this month. Humility, respect, sanity, obedience, kindness, devoutness and prayers are necessary virtues that must stay with us even after Ramadan.

From Ikun Akoko to Ipesi, we felicitate with all our Muslim brethren. We pray that Allah will answer all your prayers as well as accept your worship. He will grant you more fulfilling years to witness and partake in Ramadan. Have a great celebration.
