Missing AAUA Student: ODHA Committees On Education Visit Akungba, Parents

Lawmaker representing Akure South Constituency 1, Hon Simeon Toluwani Borokini with other members of the Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on Education and Tertiary Institution comprising Hon Sunday Olajide, Hon Felemu Gudu Bankole, Hon Taofeek Mohammed paid a visit to Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko and areas within the community affected by the recent heavy downpour in the state which swept off a student of the university to an unknown destination.

At the scene of the incident, Hon Borokini condemned the selfish acts of land owners who built hostels near water channels thereby subjecting the lives of the dwellers to danger and unpalatable circumstances which is a factor for the recent pathetic incident in the area.

He further expressed sympathy with other students who lost their valuables during the flood and implored the University Management and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) who were also present at the visit to provide relief materials to the victims as well as a better accommodation.

He also advised the university management on ensuring strict adherence by land owners to the university rules guiding hostel construction in the community in order to prevent future reoccurrence of such deadly event.

The committees also visited the family of the missing student in Akure, Ondo State Capital and offered prayers for her safe return.
