We announce the death of a former staff of Ondo State Radiovision Corporation Ayo Ogedengbe. He transmuted from the plane of mortals to that of esteemed immortals today 20th August, 2020 at the resting age of 66.

Ogendengbe retired as the Director News and Current Affairs of our Corporation after 35 years of meritorious service spanning all areas of practice in Broadcast journalism. He served Ondo State as the pioneer Treasurer of SWAN as well as a member of the first Board of Directors of Sunshine Football Club. He was at another time the Press officer to the Governor of Ondo State between 2003 – 2007.

He was a complete Journalist and a colossus of the best order of our noble callling. He was detailed, reliable, honest and completely dedicated to the true course of the profession he loved. He spent his lifetime dedicated to working with other like minds to engineer a just, prosperous and egalitarian society that we all so badly want.

Ogedengbe was an anathema to half measures, indolence and pretence. He was also a gadfly to injustice, subversion and double standard . He detested intrigues, artifice and sycophancy. He will be remembered as a bold and forthright leader as well as a mentor figure to his contemporaries and subordinates. We particularly miss his dexterity and total dedication to the cause of development to the Corporation and its professionals.

I wish to put on record, our management’s deep appreciation for Ogedengbe’s solidarity, deep insights and invaluable inputs which assisted us in navigating the murky waters of reforms which the state Government directed for the state owned media organisations.

We are however consoled by the fact that Oged’s existence was an testimony of a life well spent. His footprint, like that of men of great history, shall remain indelible in the sand of time.

We sincerely pray for divine fortitude for his family, particularly his precious widow and the children and grandchildren whose fond memories of times spent together aggravate this removal.

Signed.
