The Ondo state high court has terminated the contempt suit against the speaker of the Ondo state of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun and three principal officers of the house.
Justice Ademola Bola while ruling on the suit noted that the termination becomes imperative following evidence that the speaker and the house had complied with his earlier order to reinstate the four suspended lawmakers.
He also added that since the warring parties agreed to an amicable position, the suit is therefore terminated.
The house had on Monday, December 14 reinstated the lawmakers in line with court order but the contempt suit had already been instituted before the court against the speaker and three others.
Justice Bola commended the Ondo state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Titiloye Charles for his role in the amicable resolution of the crisis.
He also commended the speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun and other members for honouring the court summon.
The Precision NG gathered that the suit was terminated on the premise that the outstanding salaries, allowances and other prerequisites of office due to the four Lawmakers are restored immediately after resumption.
The Justice Commissioner promised to ensure the directive is followed by the house.
