CELEBRATION OF TWO YEARS OF UNUSUAL BENEVOLENT LEADERSHIP OF GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE

Dear Governor Seyi,

I celebrate with you and join other numerous well-wishers to congratulate Your Excellency and the people of Oyo State on this celebration of two years of unusual benevolent leadership and impactful service.

It is also appropriate to give glory to God for life, even at this perilous times of the almost untrappable COVID. In our modest mind, we know that God preserved you, for some there is tendency to forget. For us we will not forget but we will give glory to God for gift of life.

Your Excellency, you came when the peoples’ understanding of service in governance had been twisted by several years of successive descention into new lows, thus eroding the trust and believe of the people in all forms of leadership at any level.

You maintained a formidable coalition to wrestle power for the people, when the time came for governance you did not forget the people who should be the ultimate beneficiaries of the coalition.

It takes courage to always stand with the people. You have never shied away from providing the required courageous leadership against all odds. In reality, this is the true measure of your strength.

You arrested the attention of your citizens early by your modesty and rare style of open governance, you earned their trust when the results of your silent war on wastage and profligacy in government became evident.

You gave reasons for your people to hope again by your simplicity and intentional commitment to the welfare of workers, the elderly and your ambitious pursuit of infrastructural development.

Your Excellency, posterity will be kind to you for your unique governance philosophy which prioritises the welfare of the mass of your people above any form of adulation and political correctness.

As you celebrate this important milestone of your administration, I pray for God’s continued wisdom and guidance with sound health. I pray you finish well and strong.

Congratulations!
