FUTA Professor, Amoo Appointed Member, ABU’s Governing Council

The Federal Government has appointed Professor Isiaka Adekunle Amoo of the Department of Chemistry, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria as a member of the Governing Council of the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU Zaira.

This is contained in a statement released by the University on its Facebook page on Friday.

The appointment which is for a single tenure of four years takes effect from July 15, 2021.

Conveying the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari of Amoo’s appointment via a letter he personally signed, the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu wrote, “I write to convey the approval of Mr. President, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, of your appointment as member of the Governing Council of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Please accept my hearty congratulation and sincere wishes for a most successful tenure “.


Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of FUTA, Professor Joseph Fuwape, has congratulated Amoo, a Professor of Analytical Chemistry, on the appointment.

While wising him all the best during his tenure as member of the Governing Council of ABU, Professor Fuwape enjoined him to maintain the impeccable standard of FUTA in discharging his duties and also bring his wealth of experience to bear as a member of the Council.
