The regent of Ijare in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State has assumed office.
The regent who is the Salotun of Ijare is High Chief Omoseebi Olomi Ogunleye.
He assumed office on Thursday and was officially presented to the people of the town.
Ijare tradition is against a female regent hence the Salotun automatically becomes the regent after the demise of the Olujare.
Recalled that the monarch of the community, the Olujare of Ijare, Oba Adebamigbe Oluwagbemigun – Kokotiri II joined his ancestors on August 19, 2021 at the age of 83.
