This year’s edition of Ijare day holds on Saturday 13th November, 2021 by 9am.
A statement by the local organising committee made available to The Precision NG, noted that the venue of the event is the Anglican Grammar School playing field.
“On behalf of the President and members of Ijare Egbe Omo Elewe Obi, we welcome sons and daughters as well as well wishers to the land of Kolanut.
“The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and other notable dignitaries are expected at the event,” the statement read.

This year’s Ijare day as usual will feature disbursement of bursary and scholarship to students and pupils of the town in secondary and primary schools.
Another unique thing about this year’s edition is that it is the first Ijare day for the new Regent, Chief Salotun, Omoseebi Olomi Ogunleye.
The former Olujare of Ijare, Oba Oluwagbemigun Adebamigbe, Kokotiri II who joined his ancestors earlier this year was at the last event held in 2019. No event was held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Similarly, the executives of the Ijare National Students Union (INSU) have concluded plans to launch the official anthem for the body during the Ijare day event.
The General Secretary of the Union, Comrade Emmanuel Ige told The Precision NG that the anthem would be available for download online from November 13.
Ijare is a town in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. It lies around 20 km north-northeast of the city of Akure.
The town is specifically noted for its growing and preservation of Kolanuts that earns it the appellative cognomen “Ijare Elewe Obi” That is, Ijare, the Kolanut city.
