All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed a seasoned administrator and the nominee on the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon Gbenga Edema, as a member of the Grassroot Engagement and Orientation (South-West) for the Tinubu/Shetimma Presidential Campaign Council.
The appointment was contained in a letter signed by the National Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council, James Faleke.
According to Faleke, Edema’s appointment was in recognition of his efforts and ability to properly coordinate and galvanised supports for the party ahead of the polls.
While describinging the appointment as an added advantage to the council, Faleke emphasised that the party is poised to lead effective and message-driven campaign for its presidential candidate.
The letter read: “On behalf of APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), I humbly wish to inform you of your nomination to serve as member of the grassross engagement and orientation (South-West) for Tinubu/Shetimma Presidential Campaign Council.
“I am to add that your nomination to serve in this capacity is voluntary and a clarion call to National duty.
“We are grateful that you have joined our campaign team. We know you will do your utmost in this new responsibility so we conduct an effective, message-driven campaign leading us to victory in the 2023 presidential election.
“Together, not only can we ensure victory for our party, in the February 2023 election, but we shall also move Nigeria along the path of national greatness by building on the achievements of our party and President Muhammadu Buhari administration in providing progressive good governance to Nigerians.
“You are expected to work in your state and geo-political zones with other leaders towards achieving success for the party.
“All further information pertaining to your Directorate will be communicated to you through your Director. Please accept the assurances of our highest respect and regards always.”
Edema who is the immediate past Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) was last week confirmed as a nominee on the governing board of the NDDC.
Edema served meritoriously and without blemish as the Chairman of OSOPADEC between 2017 to 2021 with his track records still dotting various parts of the mandate areas.
Also a lawyer by profession, Edema served as a former lawmaker in the Ondo State House of Assembly where he represented Ilaje constituency II.
With his new appointment, he is expected to liaise with the members of the committee in ensuring a success for the ruling party’s candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
