The academic community in Ondo state and by extension Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) has lost a rare gem.
He is Professor Christopher Olumuyiwa Aboluwoye.
Born on August 8, 1961, Prof. Olu Aboluwoye as he is fondly referred to is a Nigerian professor of Chemistry at the state owned Adekunle Ajasin University.
In a telephone conversation with The Precision NG in Akure, the state capital, a lecturer and a union leader at AAUA confirmed that he died on Thursday afternoon.
“we received the news of his death about 30 minutes ago,” he said.
Prof Aboluwoye has been on sick bed for a while now since the demise of his mother according to one of his students who is now a lecturer at an institution in the eastern part of Nigeria.
