A highly profiled private school in Akure, the Ondo state capital, Impact International Schools, has again blazed the trail by successfully conducting an online examination for its students and pupils amid the Coronavirus lockdown.

The online second term examination which is computer based, ran between Wednesday, 3rd June and Thursday, 11th June, 2020.

The Precision NG gathered that in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic which eventually caused a lockdown of economic activities in Nigeria, education inclusive, academic activities at Impact International Schools for the second term have been going on via the school’s e-learning portal known as IMPACT VIRTUAL LEARNING COMMUNITY (IVLC).

The online platform was designed for learning and interaction from the students’ and pupils’ individual homes.

With this development, the school has been able to complete the second term’s academic activities with the students and pupils in Impact High School and Impact International Nursery & Primary School respectively through online teaching and learning.

The Executive Director of the School, Chf. (Mrs) Olutoyin Ade-Unuigbe, in a statement issued from the school’s Protocol and Public Relations Office to parents and made available to The Precision NG, the institution said in preparing the students and pupils for the examination, guidelines and demo simulations were uploaded on the school’s website as well as online platforms in order to prepare the students and pupils for the task ahead.

“The last few weeks have been very engaging and interesting for us as a school, and also for you as Parents.

“It’s been a jolly ride on a ‘New Learning Curve,’ a lot of attention has been on IMPACT VIRTUAL LEARNING COMMUNITY (IVLC)/BEYOND THE CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE, your response to this ‘New Normal’ has been very encouraging, it is therefore sacrosanct for us to specially appreciate you, our highly dedicated and very committed Impact Parents for your resilience and sacrifices that has made us to record the desired huge success.

“So far so good, we have about 95% positive response/success rate, we sincerely appreciate you all”, she said.

Mrs Ade-Unuigbe also stated that Impact International Schools did not charge any extra fees for the Virtual Learning Services that have been rendered in the last few months.

“As Covid-19 ravages and schools are shutdown, we at Impact International Schools, Akure are committed to ensuring that learning never stops, after all, teaching and learning are no longer restricted to the four walls of the classrooms”, she said.
