Ondo 2020: APC Should Be Held Responsible For Violence – PDP

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Ondo State has said the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) should be held responsible for any form of violence during this period in Ondo State.

The new state party chairman, Hon. Fatai Adams made this known while briefing news men in Akure the state capital.

Hon. Fatai Adams condemned the scale of violence that marred the recently conducted Local Government election in Ondo state, where according to him “APC Thugs brutalized the people and vandalized vehicles where people resisted their rigging plan”.

The party chairman called on security agencies to probe former chairman of APC in Ondo State D.I kekemeke to answer for his utterances (in a viral video) that are capable of precipitating crisis and setting Ondo State on fire ahead of the gubernatorial election in the State.

Hon. Fatai Adams said further that ” the people of Ondo State have rejected Akeredolu and his lackluster performance, therefore threatening violence will not in any way save him from defeat”.

He added that PDP as a party is prepared for a free and fair election, in his words, ” as a party, we are prepared for a free and fair election, Akeredolu and his party should do the same but if there is any violence during this period, Akeredolu and APC should be held responsible”.

The press conference had in attendance former deputy governor in Ondo State, Otunba Omolade Oluwateru, PDP elder, Tayo Dairo, Mr Dayo Awude and other party executives.
